The list of newly opening resorts in the Maldives is marking the entry of yet another one-of-a-kind five-star luxury island getaway when the well-renowned Mandarin oriental opens its first-ever Maldives property from 2025.
Expected Opening Date 2025
Announced to be unveiled in four-year time on the Bolidhuffaru reef in South Male Atoll, the 34-hectare property is under construction by SAMAC Properties, part of one of the world’s luxury real estate developers based in Dubai, as a three-island project that would give the visitors the best of Maldives experience.
The striking aspect of this newly opening Maldives resort is that three separate full-fledged private islands will be made use of for a single resort; which is the first of its kind in the Maldives. With uncurbed reign over endless beaches, pleasing tropical flora constituted by soaring coconut trees and turquoise lagoons of three pristine islands of snow-white shores will be the epitome of a dreamy destination for guests.
Prior to this, only Crossroads Maldives has come up with the idea of a multi-island destination in the Maldives. But as opposed to the concept initiated by Crossroads, Mandarin Oriental's trio-island structure has only a single resort stretching across three islands in order to maximize the exclusivity of the guests whereas the Crossroads has two different private island resorts to share the integrated structure.
At present, this newly opening resort by Mandarin Oriental is expected to have a total of 120 luxury, yet nature-chic, villas in different residential categories with the room sizes ranging from 200 to 1,000 square meters. Making use of its sugar sandy beaches and vast lagoon stretches, the Bolidhuffaru's Trio Island Resort shall feature 56 over-water villas and 64 beach villas in addition to 10 iconic residences. In addition to having a private pool, each shelter will be designed with the best in the market in terms of luxury and vibes.
As far as the dining, this newly opening resort in the Maldives has six international dining outlets in stock including three specialty restaurants and a sunset bar, showcasing varied themes. Culinary cultures from South America, Europe, Middle East, and Asia will be implemented to offer its guests a culinary tour of the world. The local dishes prepared using unexplored Maldivian local island cuisine are also served before you.
The additional facilities will include a padi certified dive center, water sports center, junior club for kids and teens, a public swimming pool, a tennis court, a fitness center, and an array of private beach areas. Remarkably the wellness arrangements of Bolidhuffaru's Trio Island Resorts by Mandarin Orientals will boast of a designated tropical garden that will be strewn across with 12 treatment suites (the maximum a Maldives resort could claim), vitality pools, sauna, steam rooms, beauty salon, boutique and welcome lounge.
“Mandarin Oriental is focused on developing its resort portfolio and it has been looking to enter the Maldives for some time. This project represents the right opportunity for the group,” said James Riley, Chief Executive of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.
Newly Opening resorts in the Maldives are always as unique as it has been in its private island tourism. The attributes for a holiday destination are liable to change, especially after the increase in number of global trotters who prefer to give vent to their pandemic-era hunker-down by means of traveling. With three years in hand before its debut in the Maldives, the group is getting the opportunity to devise their properties to the best contemporary definitions of luxury and strategies.
